Golden Pumpkin Spice Latte
There is something very soothing about holding a steaming hot mug in your hands as you sip away into absent minded bliss. Sometimes I like having warm drinks first thing in the morning. Allowing its warmth to seep into my body as I slowly wake up. Other times I have it in the afternoon as a comforting companion to a good cookie or a book. No matter what hour of the day you choose, there is no bad time to have a calming drink. Especially if it’s this golden pumpkin spice latte.
This gently spiced drink is packed with antioxidants and immune boosting properties. Not to mention that it’s oh-so-creamy and cozy making it the perfect dreamy drink. The golden hue primarily comes from the freshly ground turmeric (check out golden milk if you’re curious) which lends a deep earthy yet slightly citrus aroma to this drink. It matches perfectly with other warm spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg for a very unique flavor profile.
This literally couldn’t be any easier to put together. All you have to do is combine some choice spices, add in a dash of sugar and you’ve got your golden pumpkin spice latte mix, ready for whenever you need a quick fix. This lasts quite long if stored properly but best used within 1-2 months, when the spices are freshest.
When ready to drink, heat up a cup of your favorite milk then add in a few teaspoons of the latte mix. On some days, I like to froth a bit of milk to add extra decadence and flair. This step is completely optional but gives this drink that special oomph if you know what I mean.
Just A Few Tips
- Make sure to use the best quality spices you can get your hands on for the best flavor. Using fresh spices also makes a difference so keep note of the expiry.
- Store this latte mix in a properly sealed jar or airtight container kept in a cool dry place.
- Sometimes I like to add a pinch of black pepper which increases the absorption of the turmeric. If you’re new to this just add a little and taste to see if it’s your jam then add more once you get used to it.
